Privacy policy
Effective August 23, 2026
Orbwing collects nothing. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporters, no accounts, and no servers of ours. Your configuration stays on your Mac. The only time any text leaves your machine is when you run an AI action against a cloud provider you configured — and then it goes directly to that provider, not to us.
What the app stores, and where
- Your configuration (rings, packs, actions, preferences) is a JSON file in your Mac's Application Support folder. It never leaves your Mac unless you export it yourself.
- API keys you optionally add are stored in the macOS Keychain, on your Mac. They are sent only to the provider they belong to, only to authenticate your own requests.
AI actions
- On-device (default): on macOS 26 and later, actions run with Apple's on-device models. The text being processed does not leave your Mac and we never see it.
- Cloud providers (optional): if you add an Anthropic or OpenAI key, the text you explicitly run an action on is sent over HTTPS directly to that provider, governed by their privacy terms. Orbwing adds no identifiers, keeps no history, and disables caching for these requests.
- Local models (optional): an Ollama endpoint runs on your own machine; nothing leaves it.
Text access
The edition downloaded from this site can, with your explicit macOS Accessibility permission, read the text you have selected — only at the moment you fire an action on it, never in the background, and it keeps no history of it. The App Store edition does not request Accessibility and works from your clipboard instead.
Subscriptions
Orbwing Pro is billed either by Apple (App Store edition) or by our merchant of record (direct edition). We receive only what is needed to deliver and manage your subscription — never your payment details. Apple's handling is governed by Apple's privacy policy; the merchant of record's by theirs.
What we can see
Nothing. We operate no servers of our own, receive no usage data, and cannot see your text, your configuration, or whether you use the app at all.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date. Given the app's design — no collection, no servers — meaningful changes are unlikely.
